Sunflower Camp
Sunflower campers take advantage of all the amenities available at JCYS Buffalo Grove during the school year, including our toddler gym, dance room, full-sized indoor gym, and securely enclosed outdoor playgrounds with age-appropriate facilities. For extra summer fun, we turn on the rainbow sprinkler outside so campers can splash around to cool off.
Campers also love our catered meals and snacks, featuring fresh, colorful food made from scratch with local ingredients. We serve organic milk to all our campers and make sure each child gets enough nutritious food for a full day of adventures.
We offer weekly in-house field trips, which in the past have included visits from The Storybook Bus, a magician, a storyteller, and Buffalo Creations. Additionally, every Friday, campers participate in a Shabbat celebration. We welcome children of all faiths to sing, dance, learn about Shabbat traditions, and enjoy a morning snack of challah and grape juice.
Behind all the fun of Sunflower Camp are the caring early childhood staff at JCYS Buffalo Grove and all the know-how of a first-class preschool. Sunflower Camp rooms are led by our qualified and dedicated school-year staff. With a low staff-to-child ratio, campers get plenty of individual attention – and children who regularly attend preschool at JCYS Buffalo Grove will feel right at home with the same classroom teachers from the school year.
Infant Sunflower Camp
Infants age 6 weeks through 14 months participate in summer activities in an age-appropriate manner while receiving care from our expert infant staff. Please see the JCYS Buffalo Grove Infant Care page here for more details about our infant program.
Toddler and Preschool Sunflower Camp
Our toddler and preschool campers get a fun-filled introduction to summer adventures at Sunflower Camp, where campers enjoy arts and crafts, music, sports, and fun in the water.
Program Highlight: Theme Weeks
Theme weeks at Sunflower Camp give campers the chance to explore new places, environments, and ideas – from “Yes to the Mess” to “Magical Mystery Tour” to “Red, White, & You” week, our themes incorporate in-house field trips that provides a balance between entertainment and an introduction to community helpers. All campers also participate in daily themed activities, like a special art project, game, or book.
Summer 2024 Tentative Schedule

Each day, campers will get to experience 1 of 5 camp specials. Art, science, music/games, drama/storytelling, and sprinkler play will be included. - Thematic Activities
Get ready for an action-packed rug time! Our teachers will read stories, sing songs, and participate in small group games. Centers will give children one-on-one attention and provide skill-building activities that center around our week’s theme. - Meals & Rest Time
- Half-day campers will be served a morning snack.
- Half-day with Lunch Bunch campers will enjoy a morning snack and lunch.
- Full-day campers will receive a morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack.
- Rest time will occur between 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.

Register
Registration for 2024-25 summer and school year programming is now open.
In order to complete your registration, you must provide a non-refundable, non-transferable registration fee. The registration fee for infant care, toddler care, and preschool programming is $200 per child; for camp, the fee is $100 per child.

Our installment plan for Summer 2024 is initially billed on April 15, 2024. Our installment plan for Fall/Spring 2024-2025 is initially billed on June 15, 2024. If registering after our initial bills go out, you will be contacted by your Business Manager regarding adjusted installments.
