After a century of operation at the site, Jewish Council for Youth Services (JCYS) has entered into a contract to sell Camp Red Leaf to Camp Nageela Midwest. The sale includes the Camp Henry Horner property and the Camp Red Leaf program, which will continue to be operated on the property by Camp Nageela after the sale is complete.
Camp Red Leaf respite weekends and summer camps will continue to be held on site and will be operated by Camp Nageela. Lauren Malecki will remain the Director of Camp Red Leaf and lead the program under Camp Nageela’s ownership. JCYS will continue operations and the scheduled Camp Red Leaf programming through the end of February 2019.
We are confident that Camp Nageela will grow Camp Red Leaf and create a lively and vibrant camp site on which the program will thrive. If you have any questions or wish to enroll in future sessions of Camp Red Leaf, please contact Lauren Malecki at (847) 740-5010 ext. 2224 or Camp Nageela at (773) 604-4400 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are honored to have served your family. Thank you for supporting JCYS and being an invaluable member of the Camp Red Leaf community.
Along with our successful traditional summer camp programs, we also offer additional opportunities that make Camp Red Leaf an experience worth coming back to year after year.
For youth with more serious conditions that require constant care, Camp Red Leaf offers a weeklong camp session during which the ratio of camper to counselor is one-to-one. During 1:1 Week, attendees with more complex needs, including those with a multiple diagnosis, as well as conditions with increased medical dependency, are still able to enjoy the great outdoors and all that summer camp has to offer.
